DigitalAsset Finder™ v2.0 delivers many new features with an enhanced user interface that provides an improved user experience for managing document sets and their digital asset members.  The new Hit List presents search results in a more structured manner making it easier to work with the information retrieved.

Improved features in the DAF v2.0 release include:

DAF DocumentSet™ Management
DAF’s managed repository architecture is based on the concept of a document set containing one or more members or “digital assets.”  DAF v2.0 provides users with total document set control through enhanced flexibility in the managing digital assets and metadata that make up each member of a document set.  It allows users to search for document sets of related digital assets and manipulate them from the Hit List.  A DocumentSet™ is treated as another digital asset in the Hit List.

Search and Update Templates
Application and personal field templates introduced in this release go beyond the search function.  Field templates are also used to control field updates in a repository.  Field templates are associated with a field and its values allowing DAF to automatically present the template or templates matching the digital asset.  DAF v2.0’s Application Administrator module controls application templates.

Hit List Header Control
Users are able to control the information that appears as the “title” or “Hit Header” of their hit lists eliminating the confusion associated with one or more hits with the same title.  Through their own profile, users can control the view of the information displayed as the Hit Header.  DAF v2.0 is able to display the document title or the value of up to three fields defined in the system in any order users choose providing a more granular view of the Hit Header.

Hint Boxes
Using their own personal profile, users are able to control the information that appears in the hint box for each displayed search hit.  This provides users with quick access to the information related to each hit by presenting associated template fields and/or any other available field the user may wish to display.

Faster Cart updates
DAF has provided users with the ability build document sets by picking documents from the Hit List and placing them in a selection cart.  DAF v2.0 has improved the process by allowing users to add a member or document set from the Hit List into the selection cart with a simple click on the cart icon displayed next to the header of the hit in the Hit List.

Redesigned Update/View Interface
A complete redesigned of the DocumentSet™ and member interface provides users with easy access and control of the management functions associated with a DocumentSet™ or a member.

Smart Tabs
Colored tab displays eliminate the need to click through  application tabs to discover whether or not information is present.

PDF Generation
With DAF v2.0, users have the option to store their documents in their original formats and share those same documents in a PDF format.  Additionally, DAF provides PDF generation functions allowing users to create single PDF files from one or more files from different repositories include their associated metadata.  All the information including the original file and metadata can be “containerize” or store as attachments within the PDF file within the DAF v2.0 environment.

Dynamic Thumbnail Generation
DAF v2.0 enables the system administrator to configure thumbnail creation to occur at indexing or at viewing time.  This tunes for a balance between speed and storage.   An additional option of creating the thumbnail at viewing and storing it for future use increases access speed is to the most referenced images in the repositories.

Hit, Cart and Collection Report Management
With DAF v2.0, users can control the information that appears in the lists reports.  Through their individualized profiles, users may determine the information is to be included in the printed report from the hit, cart or collection lists.
