FinderManager™ is the control center of the DAF Platform with the responsibility to administer all the components that make up the environment. FinderManager™ is configured using the DAF Administration module from where one or more instances of the solution is controlled. In addition to monitoring all input queues, FinderManager™ works with the indexing technology engines and user requests to maintain each repository updated.
FinderManager™ is responsibile for:
- Management of all repositories indexes and synchronization of their content
- Manages external applications
- Manages indexing functions
- Manages locks on files or unique resources for the platform
- Manages login requests to the environment
- Management of all instances in the environment
FinderManager™ provides the following functionalities:
- Supports console mode or being run as a service
- Supports granular logging levels that can be adjusted during operation
- Majority written in Java except for special functionalities compiled to native code on each platform
- Supports user-defined services using a clean, well-defined APIs
- Able to run command-line applications on startup or by commands sent from the DAF Administration module
